A mentions market asks whether a specified word or phrase is said during a defined event. You can follow a company closely and still misread the bet if you overlook who has to say it or which part of the call counts.
The saved board includes Palantir, Spotify, Snapchat, PayPal, Amazon and other earnings calls. Each company has its own list of terms. The prices are attached to those terms, not to whether the results are good or bad.
Match the phrase, the eligible speakers and the part of the call. A word in a press release or an analyst’s question may be treated differently from one in management’s prepared remarks.
The Palantir example includes “NVIDIA”, “Healthcare” and “NHS / National Health Service”. Those are separate listed conditions. The slash in a label is a reason to read the rules, not a licence to decide for yourself which variants count.
Check plurals, abbreviations, repeated mentions and whether the word must be used in a particular context. A topic being discussed without the specified language may not satisfy a word-based market.

| Detail | What to find in the rules | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Speaker | Management, named speakers or everyone on the call | A word from an analyst may be treated differently |
| Call segment | Prepared remarks, questions and answers, or the full event | The same word can appear in only one part |
| Word matching | Accepted terms, variants and minimum count | Similar language is not necessarily the named phrase |
| Evidence | Audio, transcript or another named record | A transcript and a live caption can differ |
Earlier transcripts can show what a company tends to discuss, but they cannot settle the next call. Check the event named in the current market and whether its date or scope has changed.
If you listen live, remember that a stream or transcript may arrive after other participants have seen the information. The saved odds on this site are not a live-call feed. Check current prices rather than treating the snapshot as an available entry point.
Use financial event markets for captured result measures, or company markets for subscribers, headcounts and similar business totals. A company mentioning “growth” and reporting growth above a particular threshold are different questions.
Only if the market’s rules include that material. A spoken-word market may have different conditions from one that accepts written releases or slides.
Do not assume so. Check the eligible speakers, call window, word variants and required count for the individual listing.
Not if the condition requires a higher number of qualifying mentions. Read the minimum count as well as the word or phrase.
Only if that speaker and segment are included in the terms. Some questions may focus on company representatives or a defined part of the event.
Not necessarily. Streams, captions and transcripts can have delays. This site does not provide a live transcript or live odds feed.
